STEM Program Educator

Are you passionate about teaching STEM and shaping the future of young minds? iFLY Indoor Skydiving is seeking a dedicated STEM Program Educator for a part-time, flexible role. Most educational excursions take place during weekday mornings.

With a track record of hosting over 10,000 STEM field trips and engaging more than 300,000 students across the country, our STEM Program Educators lead students from elementary to high school through an engaging, hands-on educational experience. Throughout our program, every participant will explore STEM principles linked to our wind tunnel, engage in age-appropriate activities, and experience flight with a qualified instructor in our wind tunnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-person presentations that introduce students to age-appropriate STEM concepts associated with the wind tunnel.
  • Collaborate with iFLY Flight Instructors to illustrate the behavior of everyday objects in our wind tunnel.
  • Facilitate engaging science activities or experiments tailored to the appropriate grade level.
  • Interact with educators and parents to gather constructive feedback regarding the Education Program.
  • Partner with iFLY staff to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Communicate with Education Program personnel to enhance and refine the program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering, mathematics, STEM education, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of science and mathematics concepts included in the K-12 curriculum.
  • Comfortable leading groups of up to 130 students (average group size is around 40 students).
  • Previous teaching experience in a classroom, camp, museum, or similar STEM educational environment.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic about engaging both children and adults in STEM education.
  • Excellent public speaking abilities.
  • Proven experience in delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to adapt positively to rapidly changing situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree in science, engineering, mathematics, STEM education, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based teaching methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.

This is a part-time role. Hours will vary based on seasonal needs and scheduling. Most educational excursions occur Monday through Friday in the morning.
