Job Title: Executive Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Michael's on the Hill, a top farm-to-table fine dining restaurant in northern Vermont.

Job Summary:

The Executive Chef will be responsible for leading our culinary team and overseeing all aspects of food production, including menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and a commitment to excellence in food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage the culinary team to ensure seamless kitchen operations and exceptional food quality.
  • Develop and implement menus that showcase our farm-to-table philosophy and exceed guest expectations.
  • Manage inventory and supplies to maintain optimal kitchen efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and exceed guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation.
  • Recruit, train, and develop culinary team members to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve kitchen operations and menu offerings.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide the culinary team.
  • Passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and commitment to excellence in food quality and presentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
