About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Chef to join our team at Kimpton Taconic Hotel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food quality and service to our banquet guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the culinary functions to meet food quality goals and ensure consistency in presentation and taste.
  • Create and maintain a sound working relationship with the banquet culinary team to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Enforce proper sanitation practices and ensure compliance with health regulations, OSHA standards, and Department of Labor regulations.
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period.
  • Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to guests, adhering to our standard portion size, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in kitchen facilities, including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saut burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Attend weekly BEO and Resume meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination with the Catering and Banquets teams.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of relative experience in a kitchen of similar size.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to help beyond this job description and wear multiple hats, as we all do at Kimpton.
  • Food Handler Certification, Alcohol Awareness Certification (if applicable).
