Your Impact in This Role

In this position, you will focus on delivering new functionalities while enhancing existing systems, constructing infrastructure, and automating processes. As part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, you will tackle unique challenges at scale, leveraging your expertise in coding, algorithms, and system design. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be integral to a global SRE organization, collaborating with Core Engineering and Platform Teams. Your role will involve aligning engineering and product initiatives, mentoring talent, and ensuring SRE's influence across significant engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical aspects of software reliability for designated applications, including design, prototyping, and coding tasks.
  • Lead an agile team by implementing consistent development practices, including tools and documentation.
  • Engage in architectural discussions to ensure software transaction flows are effectively supported.
  • Conduct code reviews and implement automated testing procedures.
  • Identify and resolve software defects through debugging.
  • Collaborate with teams to establish standards that enhance availability.
  • Evaluate and deploy orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions to streamline processes.
  • Define monitoring requirements to ensure visibility for all support teams.
  • Provide mentorship to software engineers on resilient design patterns.
  • Develop and recommend recovery tools that comply with enterprise standards.
  • Encourage innovative changes and improvements by challenging the status quo.
  • Introduce impactful technologies to enhance production support and incident recovery.
  • Analyze workflows to drive team efficiency and productivity.
  • Partner with relevant teams to ensure operational readiness throughout the application lifecycle.
  • Facilitate the resolution of non-application issues, including infrastructure and network challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in system design, algorithms, data structures, and software design.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Technology, or Engineering.
  • Experience in a 24/7 environment with on-call responsibilities for production support.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native principles, including service discovery and automation tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing complex projects with diverse teams.
  • Ability to foster team dynamics that drive results.
  • Commitment to innovation in processes and software to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with monitoring technologies from a product owner's perspective.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and release automation technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a variety of software development and operations technologies, including cloud infrastructure and databases.
  • Expertise in modeling and architecting complex business domains.
  • Proven success in implementing event-driven microservices.
  • Strong understanding of application development languages and the significance of APIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills that drive impactful execution.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement through systematic analysis.
  • Willingness to embrace new technologies and drive change within the organization.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually, plus bonuses and benefits.
