Role Responsibilities

As part of the Site Reliability Engineering and Application Support (SRE & AS) team, you will be instrumental in enhancing tools that ensure high availability and resilience across our critical applications. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing the technical components of software development.
  • Leading a software engineering team by implementing consistent development practices, including tools, shared components, and documentation.
  • Conducting code reviews and overseeing automated testing processes.
  • Identifying and resolving software defects through debugging.
  • Managing the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across various environments.
  • Automating deployment processes in both testing and production settings.
  • Scaling applications automatically based on demand forecasts.
  • Adhering to security and regulatory best practices.
  • Exhibiting increased self-sufficiency to meet team objectives.
  • Encouraging innovative changes and improvements within the team.
  • Enhancing team productivity by analyzing workflows and implementing effective strategies.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to team members.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development within a professional setting.
  • A broad range of engineering experience with a proven track record of leading engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience in application design, software development, and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases.

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (such as Go, Python, JavaScript) with a willingness to learn new languages and frameworks.
  • Ability to articulate complex data structures and their components.
  • Experience in designing, coding, testing, maintaining, and documenting application components.
  • Capability to lead peer reviews of colleagues' work.
  • Understanding of test conditions based on functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of core tools used in planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in monitoring system performance and availability, with a focus on improving software quality through root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure technologies (Linux, Docker/containers, communication protocols).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Understanding of key observability tools (e.g., OTEL, Splunk, Grafana).
