Position Overview:

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to oversee our engineering team. Ideal candidates will possess a Professional Engineering License (PE) and have substantial experience in Mechanical/HVAC Systems Design, as well as mentoring junior engineers.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida, or eligibility for reciprocity. PE License preferred but not mandatory.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and design, particularly in HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and related technologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while leading a team of engineers and designers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Experience in designing Mechanical/HVAC systems for various sectors, including academic, commercial, healthcare, and municipal projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Autodesk, energy/load simulation software, and Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities:

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
  • Manage overall project execution to achieve objectives; Plan, organize, and lead technical projects and teams.
  • Build and maintain client relationships; Act as a liaison between clients, agencies, subcontractors, and the design team.
  • Identify and implement cost-effective solutions for clients; Participate in project pursuits and interviews.
  • Ensure timely preparation and delivery of accurate project documentation; Assist with construction administration tasks, including RFIs and site evaluations.
  • Design and produce documents to meet project timelines, including equipment sizing, ductwork, and piping; Maintain a strong understanding of relevant codes and mechanical/HVAC industry standards.
  • Review mechanical documents for conflicts with other disciplines; Coordinate with architects, interior designers, engineers, and specialty sub-consultants.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on the work of other mechanical engineers and technicians.
