Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) invites you to become a member of our team as a Principal Test Facility Engineer (Swing/Grave).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct life cycle assessments and root cause analyses of steam facility apparatus, including boilers, cooling towers, condensers, and other high-temperature and high-pressure systems.
  • Investigate, plan, design, and develop innovative systems and operational profiles to enhance test facility efficiency.
  • Execute thermal and heat transfer evaluations on various test facility systems and components.
  • Support the testing of primary propulsion and power generation systems.
  • Compile technical documentation and present findings to Test Facility Engineering Management.
  • Draft proposals, statements of work, and project plans while coordinating operator and contractor assignments.
  • Oversee Test Facility Operational Procedures to guarantee safe operations and technical precision.
  • Establish and refine preventative maintenance protocols and corrective maintenance strategies for system and component overhauls and repairs.
  • Create and maintain program-specific pre- and post-test checklists.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with a minimum of 5 years of mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience; or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering schematics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating propulsion and power plant machinery; experience with fluid and thermodynamic systems.
  • Strong project management skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in Test Facility operations and/or Power Generation/Chemical Facility environments.
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Creo, Solidworks, or equivalent.

Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300. This salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
