Job Summary

Mercy Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing indirect and direct patient care, working closely with our healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Collect and record patient data, including vital signs, medical history, and test results
  • Prepare and administer medications, as directed by a physician
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses
  • Provide patient education and support, including explaining treatment procedures and medications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Medical Assisting certification (required within 9 months from start date)
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program (required within 30 days of employment)
  • 1 year of healthcare or clerical physician practice experience (preferred)
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to high noise levels, bright lights, and physical altercations. You will be required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment, and follow infection control policies.

Physical Requirements

This role requires manual dexterity, the ability to multitask, and strong communication skills. You will be required to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive arm and hand movements.
