Hospital Admissions Representative Full Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hospital Admissions Representative to join our team at Guidehouse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for obtaining and verifying demographic information, insurance benefits, and eligibility. Your primary goal will be to ensure accurate billing and clinical information by assigning the correct medical record and account number.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and verify demographic information, insurance benefits, and eligibility from patients, physicians, and other sources.
- Assign the correct medical record and account number to ensure accurate billing and clinical information.
- Perform pre-certification, credit referral, or deposit collection as required.
- Enter data into computer systems and thoroughly document any incomplete admissions/registrations.
- Notify patients, family members, physicians, and supervisors of insurance coverage issues, co-payments, deductibles, or deposits needed.
- Review physician's orders for completion and ensure all required information is listed.
- Complete Medicare Compliance and obtain ABN if necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of all Federal, State, and Local Laws pertaining to insurance rules and regulations.
- Maintain multiple computer systems and ensure data accuracy.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a medical setting or heavy customer service environment utilizing data entry skills, insurance, or other online websites and various software applications.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM.
- Medical terminology knowledge or ability to learn.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days from start date.
- Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from start date.
