We are seeking a skilled Hospital Admissions Representative to join our team at Guidehouse. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration and demographic data collection.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and verify patient demographic information, insurance benefits, and eligibility.
- Assign correct medical records and account numbers to ensure accurate billing and clinical information.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff to resolve insurance coverage issues and notify patients of co-payments, deductibles, or deposits needed.
- Review physician orders for completion and ensure all required information is listed.
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to insurance rules and regulations.
- Utilize multiple computer systems to complete tasks efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a medical setting or heavy customer service environment with data entry skills, insurance, or other online websites and software applications.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 CWPM.
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from start date.
