Hospital Admissions Representative Full Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hospital Admissions Representative to join our team at Guidehouse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for obtaining and verifying demographic information, insurance benefits, and eligibility for patients. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will ensure accurate billing and clinical information.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and verify demographic information, insurance benefits, and eligibility for patients
- Assign the correct medical record and account number
- Provide accurate and timely information to patients, family members, physicians, and supervisors
- Notify patients of insurance coverage issues, co-payments, deductibles, or deposits needed
- Review physician's orders for completion and ensure all required information is listed
- Complete Medicare Compliance and obtain ABN if necessary
- Maintain multiple computer systems and ensure accurate data entry
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED required
- Minimum 1 year experience in a medical setting or heavy customer service environment
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM
- Medical terminology knowledge or ability to learn
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days from start date
