Job Summary:

Actalent is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at an oncology-focused clinic in Spokane and Spokane Valley. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, provider offices, and treatment rooms as needed.
• Record patient data prior to each provider visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
• Document all elements of care and maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Process instruments and equipment as needed and adhere to CCNW policies regarding the use of protective personal equipment (PPE) and hygiene standards in the workplace.
• Provide telephone or in-person screening for intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledge.
• Phone in prescriptions, complete with proper documentation, and keep an accurate medication list for all patients under your care.
• Schedule patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions and schedule appointments to follow-up on test results, as applicable.
• Perform other administrative duties, such as typing, filing, faxing, reception, etc., as requested by your supervisor or provider.

Requirements:

• Current DOH Medical Assistant Certification
• Graduate from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred
• Five (5) years' experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting
