Position: Senior Robotics Control Engineer

Employment Type: Long-term

Location: Lake Orion, MI

Shift Flexibility Required: Candidates must be adaptable to work various shifts. Initial assignment will be on the first shift, with rotation occurring every 3 to 4 months.

Shift Schedule: 1st shift: 6am-2:30pm, 2nd shift: 2pm-10:30pm, 3rd shift: 10:00pm-6:30am

Role Overview: The Senior Robotics Control Engineer will oversee controls engineering and electrical assistance, focusing on modifications and ongoing enhancements of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to maintenance teams and other technical personnel within the organization; maintain consistent communication with external partners.
  • Assess and monitor financial expenditures related to processes and equipment.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving throughput efficiency.
  • Design and implement tests to identify opportunities for design enhancements.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements, technologies, and best practices.
  • Identify and document system vulnerabilities, developing action plans for mitigation and tracking corrective measures.
  • Prioritize and enforce safe working practices at all times.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineering.
  • Proficiency with Rockwell and Siemens systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience with Fanuc robots and IR vision technology is advantageous.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Maintain production lines from a controls perspective, focusing on debugging and continuous improvement of machinery, including PLCs and robots.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of 10 controls engineers with varying expertise.
  • Note that flexible working hours are currently not available.
  • Participation in shutdown days is not applicable.
