Ridgeview, a not-for-profit community mental health center, is seeking a PRN (as needed) Mental Health Crisis Counselor to join our Mobile Crisis Team. This role is ideal for individuals looking for a second job or a flexible schedule, such as stay-at-home parents.
We offer a growth environment and the resources you need to develop your career. Our crisis center operates 24/7, providing crisis assessments either in person or via telehealth from our main center location.
Responsibilities- Provides assessment of adults experiencing a psychiatric emergency
- Determines mental health crisis needs, crisis intervention, telephone consultation, linkage with community resources, and pre-screening admissions of emergency hospital commitments
- Follows up to ensure appropriate service is available
- Uses a telehealth system to provide some of these services in various locations
- Some travel required to provide service in Ridgeview's 5-county catchment area
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling
- Valid TN driver's license and a safe driving record
- LMSW/Temporary LPC license or the ability to obtain one within a 6-month time frame
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Knowledge of DSM5 criteria and ability to determine preliminary mental health diagnosis
