Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to join our team as a Crisis Peer Specialist. In this role, you will provide emotional support, guidance, and advocacy to clients navigating mental health crises. Your expertise will help empower individuals to make informed decisions about their care, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Support: Meet with clients at the Walk-In Center, providing a warm and welcoming environment to discuss their concerns and goals.
  • Documentation and Follow-up: Initiate the documentation process, ensuring accurate records of client interactions and progress. Follow up with clients to check on their status and success in accessing follow-up services.
  • Mobile Crisis Response: Serve as a second responder in paired-response mobile crisis evaluations, providing critical support and guidance to clients in need.
  • Reporting and Referral: Report clinical concerns and high-risk client issues to staff and supervisors, ensuring timely intervention and support.
  • Community Resource Navigation: Assist clients in obtaining services that suit their recovery needs, providing names of providers, community resources, and groups that may be beneficial.
  • Phone Support: Answer client phone calls, offering support and transfers to clinicians when necessary.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with searches for inpatient beds, faxes, and phone calls to ERs and hospitals.
  • Supervision and Training: Attend supervision and participate in training sessions, ensuring ongoing professional development and growth.

Requirements:

  • Certification or Formal Training: Possess certification or formal training as a Peer Specialist, with a strong foundation in recovery methods and tactics.
  • Personal Experience: Have personal experience as a consumer of mental health services, with a deep understanding of the recovery process.
  • Education and Skills: Hold a high school degree or GED equivalent, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motor Vehicle Requirements: Be at least 25 years old, with a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 annually, based on education and experience. Our benefits package includes comprehensive health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
