Job Title: Loudon and Union County School-Based Mental Health Liaison

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a School-Based Mental Health Liaison in Loudon and Union Counties.

Job Summary:

The School-Based Mental Health Liaison will provide direct mental health services to children and families in the rural county school system. This includes providing individual consultation to teachers, assisting in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP), and providing training and education to teachers, school staff, and students to promote healthy learning environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual, family, and group counseling sessions
  • Provide advocacy, linkage, and referral services as needed
  • Participate in IEP and other school-related meetings
  • Provide parent, school, or school staff training
  • Interface professionally with school personnel and other agencies
  • Conduct group sessions with children and/or parents
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a human services field such as counselor or social work
  • Two years' experience working with children with emotional or behavioral problems, or two years of experience with adolescent substance use/abuse prevention, or a combination of the two
  • Experience leading groups and trainings
  • Coursework in cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, trauma, suicide, and learning disorders
  • Licensed or licensed eligible
Working Conditions:

This position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques, as well as certification in CPR. The successful candidate will also be required to possess a valid Tennessee driver's license and be able to travel to family homes and community locations to provide therapy services or meet with families.

Benefits:

The Helen Ross McNabb Center offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a starting salary of approximately $49,273 per year, based on relevant experience and education. A $4,000 sign-on bonus is also available.
