Position Overview

The Franchise Development Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in propelling the growth and outreach of our retail tax preparation business by pinpointing, attracting, and integrating new franchisees. This position encompasses the formulation and execution of impactful sales strategies, overseeing the franchise sales journey, and ensuring that potential franchisees are thoroughly informed and ready to engage with the franchise network. The Franchise Development Sales Manager collaborates closely with the VP of Franchise Development to fulfill the company’s franchise sales objectives and contribute to its overarching growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Franchise Sales Strategy:
    • Craft and execute strategic sales initiatives to meet franchise growth targets.
    • Identify key markets and potential franchisees through comprehensive market research.
    • Engage in the development of marketing strategies aimed at attracting prospective franchisees.
  • Lead Generation and Prospecting:
    • Generate leads through diverse channels, including digital marketing and networking opportunities.
    • Assess leads to confirm they align with the company’s standards for potential franchisees.
    • Maintain a strong pipeline of interested franchise candidates.
  • Sales Process Management:
    • Oversee the complete franchise sales process, from initial contact to final agreement.
    • Deliver presentations and conduct meetings with potential franchisees to share information about the franchise opportunity.
    • Assist prospective franchisees through due diligence, including financial evaluations and background checks.
  • Relationship Building:
    • Establish and nurture strong relationships with both prospective and current franchisees.
    • Provide continuous support and communication throughout the sales journey.
    • Act as a bridge between prospective franchisees and the company’s leadership.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Ensure all franchise agreements and documentation adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
    • Assist in the preparation and review of franchise disclosure documents (FDDs).
    • Maintain precise and current records of all franchise sales activities.
  • Collaboration and Reporting:
    • Work in tandem with the VP of Franchise Development to align sales strategies with the company’s goals.
    • Provide regular updates on franchise sales activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics.
    • Participate in routine meetings to assess sales progress and discuss strategic initiatives.
  • Market Analysis and Feedback:
    • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive challenges.
    • Offer insights to the leadership team regarding market conditions and franchisee requirements.
    • Suggest enhancements to the franchise sales process based on market observations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience in franchise sales, business development, or a related area, ideally within the tax or service sector.
  • Strong grasp of franchising concepts, principles, and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to engage with prospective franchisees and attend industry events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with the tax preparation industry is advantageous.

Working Conditions

  • This position is based onsite at our support center.
  • Travel is required for meetings, industry events, and franchise sales support activities.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours may be necessary.
