Position Overview:

Accountable for the management of medical records in accordance with federal and state regulations, alongside organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with organizational and departmental guidelines
  • Assist in the organization of medical records for new admissions, ensuring adherence to regulations
  • Input data for MDS and physician orders
  • Conduct audits of medical records as required and submit findings to relevant parties
  • Ensure records are complete and accurate
  • Monitor information removed from records for various purposes
  • Index and code diagnoses within medical records
  • Prepare and process physician orders
  • Generate necessary reports for healthcare providers
  • Oversee the filing and organization of medical records
  • Retrieve records for authorized personnel
  • Facilitate transfer and discharge processes

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in healthcare preferred, ideally in a Skilled Nursing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Proficient in the English language
  • Understanding of nursing practices and medical terminology
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet usage
