Position Overview:

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in welcoming patients and managing incoming calls for the Los Angeles Cancer Network / Compassion Cancer Care Medical Group. This position also involves providing essential administrative support within the front office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and guide patients and visitors
  • Manage access to the facility
  • Facilitate patient registration and check-out processes
  • Collect co-payments and manage daily cash reconciliation
  • Schedule and modify patient appointments, blood transfusions, and diagnostic tests following established protocols
  • Handle telephone inquiries, directing calls to the appropriate personnel or initiating triage messages for medical staff response, ensuring accurate message documentation when necessary
  • Maintain office supplies and uphold cleanliness standards in the front office
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality at all times
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service skills in all job functions
  • Document patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical records (EMR) system
  • Assist in training new staff on office procedures and protocols
  • Keep precise records of all appointments scheduled for healthcare providers
  • Sort and manage incoming correspondence
  • Verify patient insurance details and communicate any changes to the billing department

Qualifications:
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, particularly in oncology and hematology
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Prior experience in oncology or hematology settings is preferred
Salary Information:

Compensation may vary based on individual skills, education, certifications, experience, and geographical location.

Base Salary Range: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour
