Job Summary:

A seasoned Heavy Civil Project Manager is sought after by Whitaker Construction Co., Inc. to oversee all aspects of the construction process, ensuring timely completion and staying within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project schedules, pay estimates, and staffing requirements to ensure accurate and timely project production.
  • Assess project contracts and supporting documents for completeness, resolving specification and contract conflicts as needed.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents, investigating potentially serious situations and implementing corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and key team members to ensure project success.
  • Ensure project safety reviews and procedures are followed, conducting weekly safety checks and engaging in safety meetings.
  • Lead project closeout procedures, finalizing contract paperwork and obtaining retainages.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Project Manager or in a similar position, with experience in underground utilities, civil site work, and heavy civil projects.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand plans and specifications, with attention to detail and the ability to recognize and correct discrepancies.
