Position Summary:
The Phelps Residence Inn is seeking a skilled Rooms Quality Supervisor to collaborate with our executive and assistant housekeeping management team.

The Rooms Quality Supervisor will be tasked with evaluating guest rooms for cleanliness and upholding housekeeping standards throughout the establishment.


Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily operations in the absence of other management, including managing boards, opening/closing systems, ensuring adequate clean rooms for the shift, and verifying that all staff adhere to established standards.
  • Assisting housekeeping management in the oversight of all materials utilized within the hotel and among the staff.
  • Understanding and implementing the established standards and procedures for laundry and room cleaning.
  • Conducting inspections of guest rooms and common areas to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Daily tasks may include:

  • Addressing maintenance requests for guest rooms as necessary.
  • Interacting with guests in a friendly, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Reporting guest complaints to management promptly and resolving issues with appropriate actions.
  • Assisting with room cleaning or laundry tasks when required.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Providing training and guidance to housekeeping staff on standard operating procedures and departmental expectations.
  • Maintaining physical stamina to bend, twist, lift, and stand throughout the shift.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and be able to demonstrate the ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Physical capability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand, walk continuously, climb stairs, and maneuver heavy equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English to complete necessary documentation and meet guest needs.
  • Ability to provide clear direction and guidance to team members.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Judgment to oversee the performance of subordinates effectively.

Education:
Any combination of education and experience that equips the individual with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. A high school diploma is preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of six months in a supervisory role or one year of relevant housekeeping experience is required.

Note:
The hotel operates seven days a week and twenty-four hours a day.

All employees, both management and hourly, must recognize this fact and understand that it may be necessary to adjust shifts based on business needs.
