Position Overview

The Human Exploration and Space Flight (HESF) Division within the Civil Systems Group (CSG) is dedicated to supporting NASA in all facets of human spaceflight and program office functions. This role involves providing expert advisory services to NASA's Extravehicular Human Mobility Program Standing Review Board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist program office operations, collaborating closely with civil servant program management to support strategic development.
  • Participate in various meetings and conferences, both scheduled and ad-hoc.
  • Enhance technical integration and communication materials, contributing to the refinement of content and the establishment of strategic vision.
  • Act as a proactive advisory specialist, identifying issues and proposing solutions while collaborating with teams across various offices and panels.
  • Engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders effectively.
  • Contribute to NASA Program office forums, including the Artemis Program Office and initiatives related to the International Space Station and Commercial Low Earth Orbit Development.
  • Prepare periodic status reports and presentations.
  • Compile special reports detailing findings, issues, conclusions, recommendations, and risk assessments.
  • Provide recommendations to senior program management.
  • Fulfill additional duties as required by the customer.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant STEM fields.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible professional experience, including exposure to systems engineering and/or program management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to convey technical concepts and recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small team environment that leads technical discussions across a broad technical community.
  • Demonstrated initiative and capability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients.
  • Exceptional teamwork and leadership abilities, with a knack for managing multiple issues and disciplines simultaneously.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

It would be advantageous to possess:

  • An advanced degree in relevant STEM fields.
  • Over 20 years of experience within NASA programs.
  • Expertise in human spaceflight.
  • Prior experience with Standing Review Boards.
  • Familiarity with NASA program issues and challenges.
