Job Summary

As a Clinical Pharmacist PRN, you will play a vital role in providing age-specific pharmaceutical care and basic clinical services for assigned patient care areas. You will contribute to goals, programs, QA, PI, and other activities for your unit/department/hospital. Your responsibilities will include managing medication orders, participating in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes, and supervising and directing healthcare team members.

Responsibilities
  • Manage medication orders, ensuring medication safety through age-specific considerations.
  • Participate in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes to ensure effective patient care.
  • Supervise and direct healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Process and prepare sterile products for dispensing, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Contribute to goals, programs, and report cards for your unit/department/hospital, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Provide drug information and education to patients and healthcare team members, promoting informed decision-making and patient empowerment.
  • Participate actively on inter and intra-departmental committees, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Maximize safety and efficiency through the appropriate use of automation, ensuring seamless patient care and operational excellence.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.) degree.
  • Preferred: One year of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Minimum: PHARMACIST licensure for the appropriate state.
  • Preferred: Advanced computer order entry literacy, Microsoft Office applications, and clinical experience.
  • Minimum: Basic computer literacy and communication skills, with the ability to interpret and understand written medication orders and reference materials.
  • Preferred: BLS and/or ACLS certification, advanced post-graduate training, or equivalent clinical experience.
