Job Title: Learning Community Executive Director

Job Summary:

The Learning Community Executive Director will perform senior-level work with extensive decision-making discretion, coordinating instructional support services to assist schools in achieving desired student achievement goals. This position will support the assigned Learning Community to serve the needs of the schools and community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and supervise assigned programs/staff in the district.
  • Provide day-to-day support and supervision of PreK-12 schools assigned to the learning community.
  • Serve as a facilitator in identifying and securing expertise and support services to principals, school-based support staff, and teachers to help them increase student achievement.
  • Assist building administrators with current and desired conditions regarding district priorities in their schools.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to discuss academic achievement, benchmarks, and the community support needed to help schools reach desired academic goals.
  • Assist the Community Assistant Superintendent in overseeing the Community functions to ensure compliance with district policy and the strategic plan.
  • Serve as a representative of the Community Assistant Superintendent at district, state, public, and governmental functions when necessary and appropriate.
  • Monitor fidelity of school implementation of district curriculum and program initiatives.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with district and community staff to provide timely and appropriate professional development that supports the school improvement plan.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area required.
  • Master's degree in School Administration or a related area required.
  • NC Certification (Principal or Superintendent) preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a building or district administrator preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work requires the occasional exertion of up to ten pounds of force.
  • Work regularly requires the exchange of accurate and detailed information through oral and written communication.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office business equipment.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for required meetings/work.
  • Ability to move to other work locations.
