Job Title: In-Charge Accountant

Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a highly skilled In-Charge Accountant to join our team in the St. Marys area. This direct-hire position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in engagement planning and execute compilation engagements with guidance from senior staff.
  • Assume additional responsibility for preparing work papers and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop footnotes to financial statements and management letter comments, demonstrating expertise in financial reporting.
  • Review work papers prepared by staff accountants, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Keep the manager/supervisor informed of engagement status, ensuring timely completion and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare higher-level individual, corporate, and/or other types of tax returns, applying knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Perform preliminary research on tax-related issues and respond to tax notices, demonstrating expertise in tax compliance.
  • Participate in tax planning, identifying opportunities for clients to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Deepen knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, staying up-to-date on changes and developments.
  • Develop technical skills through on-the-job training and formal learning channels, enhancing professional growth.
  • Work effectively as a team member to complete project components and assigned tasks, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
  • Seek knowledge of client businesses and implement solutions to meet their needs, demonstrating a client-centric approach.
  • Identify task issues and progress in a timely and organized manner, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Build strong team relationship skills, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Assist in proposal development and research gathering as requested, supporting business development efforts.

  • Assist in the training and supervision of staff accountants and accounting assistants, supporting professional growth and development.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Requirements:
  • College degree and
  • Minimum of 2 years public accounting experience, with a strong background in financial reporting and tax compliance.
