Chief Financial Officer

Nickolas Asset Management (NAM) is a family-owned and operated asset management firm with a diversified portfolio of companies, including product innovation, engineering, manufacturing, and real estate.

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and serve as an advisor to the Owner of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and maintain a top-level financial team focused on financial reporting, tax, accounting, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of company goals and objectives that align with the Strategic Business Plan.
  • Develop financial and tax strategies for the parent and subsidiary companies.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with banking and financial institutions to meet growth objectives while ensuring compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with external brokers to oversee insurance and risk management activities.
  • Provide guidance to the accounting and sales teams on customer pricing strategies.
  • Oversee the preparation of business unit and consolidated financial statements, forecasts, optimization activities, and business plan updates.
  • Provide direction, oversight, and strategy for all annual and revised budgets.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Collaborate on the review, due diligence, and action of acquisition initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation highly preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in both public accounting and corporate accounting.
  • Prior experience as a CFO preferred.
  • Proven history of implementing process efficiencies and profit improvement plans.
  • Excellent leadership, team development, culture, and communication skills.
  • Must be highly analytical with top-tier organizational skills.
  • Experience in M&A activities, including due diligence, purchase strategies, and financing options.
  • Substantial experience in standard cost accounting functions, including allocation of overhead costs in establishing machine-level and product standard costs.
  • Experience in general ledger and financial accounting, as well as functions of accounts receivable, credit and collections, accounts payable, customer invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in management of ERP systems, IQMS experience preferred.
