Lead Mechanical Engineer for Testing Facilities

Position Overview:
As a senior mechanical engineer, you possess a deep understanding of intricate systems. This expertise is crucial for ensuring that our military's testing facilities are equipped to support innovative technologies. We are seeking a senior mechanical engineer who can leverage their knowledge to enhance our facilities in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations while contributing to the development of the next generation of tactical weaponry.

Your Role:
You will spearhead initiatives to construct, refurbish, and modify our clients' facility portfolio in response to evolving mission needs. This will necessitate a thorough understanding of mechanical compliance within a dynamic manufacturing setting, encompassing industrial systems with stringent humidity and temperature controls, as well as explosion-proof apparatus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee facility design services and ensure adherence to applicable codes and energetic manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize your engineering acumen to transform Department of Defense (DoD) weapons testing facilities.
  • Collaborate with teams to guarantee that the facilities, energy, and infrastructure supporting testing are primed for the challenges posed by the evolving landscape of weapons testing.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in design within a professional setting.
  • Proficient in developing statements of work and evaluating facility designs for compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Familiarity with industry standards governing mechanical systems, including the International Building Code (IBC), ASHRAE standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), NFPA, or ASME.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations concerning mechanical and HVAC system compliance.
  • Capability to design facilities and assist in the review of designs completed by others for regulatory compliance.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with engineering MEP construction drawing sets.
  • Background in laboratory environments, particularly with strict temperature, humidity, and ventilation tolerances.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer License.
