Job Overview

Southlake Orthopaedics is seeking a dedicated full-time Customer Service Specialist for our busy call center. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor while managing a high volume of incoming calls in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently handle incoming calls, providing courteous and professional service to all callers.
  • Schedule appointments for both new and returning patients, ensuring accurate data entry into the Electronic Medical Records (EHR) system.
  • Confirm patient information and insurance details, maintaining meticulous records.
  • Independently address inquiries from patients and healthcare providers regarding referrals, pre-authorizations, and insurance matters.
  • Identify urgent issues and escalate them as necessary.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, demonstrating empathy and commitment in all interactions.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, conveying information clearly and effectively.
  • Display excellent telephone etiquette and communication abilities.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and ensure a supportive attitude at all times.
  • Assist patients with questions about services and billing processes.
  • Ensure proper insurance referrals are secured from the primary care physician.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with Greenway EHR is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of customer service experience is required, with six months in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Prior experience in a call center environment is highly desirable.
  • Attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and a service-oriented mindset are essential.
