Position Overview:

The role of the Accountant at The Fairgrounds Nashville is a professional and analytical position that encompasses a variety of accounting responsibilities. The individual will work under the guidance of the Finance and Administrative Manager and will be expected to perform related tasks as necessary.

About The Fairgrounds Nashville:
This 117-acre venue is not only a hub for diverse events throughout the year but also hosts the Nashville Flea Market and the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, making it a significant landmark in the Nashville community.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare various financial statements and accompanying documentation.
2. Assist in the management of budgetary processes.
3. Reconcile financial accounts.
4. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies as required.
5. Support audit processes as assigned.
6. Generate balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
7. Analyze financial trends, costs, revenues, and obligations to forecast future financial performance.
8. Communicate financial information and underlying assumptions to management.
9. Post a variety of accounting transactions.
10. Prepare and process various financial forms.
11. May assist in payroll preparation.
12. Manage fixed assets and supplies.
13. Maintain financial and accounting documents and records.
14. Participate in compliance-related financial tasks.
15. Research, analyze, and produce financial and narrative reports or projections.
16. Maintain records of receipts and disbursements.
17. Address inquiries and concerns regarding financial matters.
18. Interpret accounting policies and procedures.
19. Provide analytical support to clients, departments, or public members.
20. May undertake various lead or supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience in the accounting or fiscal field. Candidates with foreign accreditations are encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements:
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status is preferred.
Experience in governmental accounting is a plus.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
