About the Role
The Pokémon Company is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Associate to join our team. As an Accounting Associate, you will play a critical role in preparing financial account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general revenue accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
- Maintain the general ledger for key accounts.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Aids in reconciling bank accounts at least monthly.
- Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Coordinates with software vendors to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Strong ability to develop excel-based formulas (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, MATCH functions).
