Job Overview

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled mechanic specializing in ground support equipment maintenance. Candidates with experience in automotive, heavy machinery, hydraulic systems, and electrical work are highly valued. A flexible work schedule is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to all legal and safety regulations, aligning with both local laws and Global Crossing Airlines standards.
  • Maintain all Ground Service Equipment as prioritized by the GSE Manager.
  • Conduct operations with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Verify that all safety devices, machinery, vehicles, and equipment are operated correctly by trained and qualified personnel.
  • Promote safety compliance among all employees, contractors, and visitors.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in GSE maintenance or a related field (e.g., general vehicle maintenance).
  • Relevant military experience is also considered beneficial.
  • Technical expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused approach, both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in computer usage, including familiarity with computer-aided maintenance tools.
  • Proficient in spoken English.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Regular communication is required, along with frequent standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. The employee must frequently lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
