Deputy Director of Science and Technology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to serve as Deputy Director of Science and Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in driving the organization's mission and vision forward.

About the Role
  • Assume a leadership role in supporting the Director in achieving the organization's strategic objectives and priorities.
  • Develop and implement programs, projects, and events that align with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for high-impact research and solutions.
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision, matching research sponsors with MIT capabilities and fostering relationships with industrial, public, and non-profit partners.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the organization, in collaboration with the Director and other senior leaders.
  • Support the Director in developing and implementing policies and procedures that align with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director to identify and pursue opportunities for research funding and partnerships.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, ensuring that they have the resources and support they need to succeed.
