About This Opportunity

Biogen is seeking a seasoned scientist to lead the Tissue-Enhanced Delivery Technologies group as Director/Head. This role will be responsible for defining the vision and strategy for the unit, providing scientific leadership, and identifying new external partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the vision and strategy for the Tissue-Enhanced Delivery Technologies unit to enhance delivery of biologics, oligonucleotides, and gene therapies.
  • Provide scientific leadership of a multi-disciplinary effort to identify and validate novel approaches for enhancing delivery.
  • Establish new external partnerships to leverage the potential for Biogen's large-molecule and ASO modalities.
  • Manage resources and budgets to ensure prioritization of activities across the Tissue-Enhanced Delivery Technologies unit.
  • Build and manage an engaged and entrepreneurial group to contribute to the development of novel platforms and advancement of the internal portfolio.
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent experience in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience/Neuropathology, or other relevant discipline.
  • 15+ years experience in biologics drug discovery and development.
  • Deep knowledge of the field of tissue-targeted delivery, particularly in the context of efforts to improve CNS exposure of therapeutic candidates.
  • Established track record of leading and developing people and teams.
