Chief Information Technology Officer

The Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn are seeking a seasoned and innovative Director of Information Technology to spearhead our IT division. This pivotal role will be essential in establishing a robust framework for our forthcoming digital transformation efforts. As a prominent entity in our sector, we are increasingly leveraging technology to propel our operations forward. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a strategic outlook.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Direction: Formulate and execute the IT strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overarching goals of the organization. Stay ahead of technological advancements and explore their potential applications within the organization.
- Operational Oversight: Manage all facets of IT operations, including infrastructure oversight, systems and software management, network security, data governance, and IT support services. Ensure optimal performance and ongoing enhancement of all IT systems.
- Security and Risk Management: Design and uphold comprehensive security strategies and policies to safeguard the organization's information assets. Lead risk assessment initiatives and establish plans for business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Project Leadership: Oversee and guide IT projects from conception to execution, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality outcomes.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the IT department's budget, encompassing forecasting, planning, monitoring, and reporting on financial performance.
- Vendor Relations: Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure optimal value.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and nurture the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
- At least 10 years of IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity
- Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of IT initiatives
- Demonstrated expertise in IT infrastructure planning and development
- Strong knowledge of data analysis, IT budgeting, and business continuity strategies
- Solid understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, etc.
- Exceptional leadership and decision-making abilities
- Strategic thinker with robust analytical skills
- Customer-centric, service-oriented mindset
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Proficient in managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong focus on customer service and satisfaction
- Experience in preparing presentations for Boards
Standard office hours are from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, with occasional support hours required for system upgrades and maintenance.
