Job Title: Ship/Submarine Engineering Technician 4

About the Role:

M.C. Dean, Inc. Maritime Division is seeking a highly skilled Ship/Submarine Engineering Technician 4 to join our Alteration Installation Teams. As a key member of our team, you will support C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement mechanical and structural planning for shipboard systems, including antenna supports, equipment foundations, and bulkhead and hull penetrations.
  • Conduct layout surveys, analyze test results, and prepare, review, and modify schematics.
  • Develop data summary reports and ensure compliance with safety and physical requirements.
  • Work in a mission-critical environment, demonstrating superior workmanship and leadership abilities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical or structural assembly, repair, and layouts.
  • Superior skills in complex mechanical, sub-assembly, rack, and chassis assembly.
  • Leadership abilities and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Occupation Safety Haz-Mat, Shipyard Competent Person, Aloft/Climbing, and Working in Confined Spaces certifications.
  • Ability to safely lift and move objects of 50 LBS and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily work in San Diego, CA, and Norfolk, VA, with occasional travel to other shipyards in the USA and Navy ports outside the USA.
  • Work at government facilities, requiring US Citizenship eligibility for clearance and a valid driver's license.

Physical Ability Requirements:

  • Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
  • Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
