Job Title: Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Three Saints Bay, LLC in Norfolk, VA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development, integration, test, evaluation, and certification of submarine Fly-By-Wire (FBW) Ship Control Systems (SCS) designs. This includes providing technical assistance to the technical assistance teams in troubleshooting and repair of SCS, as well as maintaining qualifications as Alteration Installation Teams (AIT) supporting SCS upgrades and alterations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with program management team to review, update, and report project performance.
  • Perform on-site support of submarine SCS and execute the duties of ISEA.
  • Maintain knowledge and experience in overseeing the development, integration, test, evaluation, and certification of existing and new submarine FBW SCS designs.
  • Provide support to the technical assistance teams in troubleshooting and repair of SCS.
  • Maintain qualifications as Alteration Installation Teams (AIT) supporting SCS upgrades and alterations.
  • Coordinate with Shipbuilders, Lead Design Yards, and Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) engineers/technicians to support new construction, overhaul, maintenance, test, and repair of submarine FBW SCS.
  • Maintain knowledge in hardware and software test and inspection methods and requirement verification, validation, and quality assurance methods.
  • Ensure fleet problem reports against these systems are acted upon and solutions proposed in a timely manner and participate in FBW process development and execution.
  • Participate in modernization teams, as necessary, to coordinate and develop the appropriate system upgrades and ensure other interfacing systems maintain compliance with existing interface specification and coordinate proposed interface changes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an Engineering, Physics, Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Information Systems field.
  • 7 - 10 years of professional experience in areas relating to Ship Control Systems ISEA activities.
  • Have an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Knowledge of Submarine Development and Construction.
  • Knowledge of function operation of Submarine Ship Control Systems and forward electronics.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of Test and Evaluation Program Management.
  • Ability to monitor and coordinate work efforts of a large group of Navy and contractor engineers/technicians, develops project tasking and funding profiles, long term implementation plans and schedules.
  • Ability to use complex interactive computer-based systems.
  • Ability to provide In-Service Support of Submarine Ship Control Systems.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of US Navy Logistical Support System.
  • Knowledge in program management of complex software intensive systems involving contractor developed and government furnished software products.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with Navy and Design Yard/Shipbuilder Technical and Program Management principals and provide in-depth assessment of the development of complex submarine control systems.
  • Previous experience as US Navy submariner preferred.
  • Intermediate/Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills; Team player.
  • Ability to meet deadlines on assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Multi-task oriented and capable of prioritizing.
