Job Title: Early Head Start Teacher

We are seeking a qualified Early Head Start Teacher to join our team at Children and Families First Delaware Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and responsive environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children aged 0-3 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans that cater to the unique needs and abilities of each child.
  • Collaborate with a co-teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with a total of 6-8 children.
  • Work with families and colleagues to achieve meaningful progress and school readiness goals for each child.
  • Implement developmentally and linguistically appropriate experiences that respect the age, language, and culture of the children served.
  • Provide a consistent classroom routine that is responsive to individual infants and toddlers' needs.
  • Support the social and emotional development of children through positive interactions and a nurturing environment.
  • Implement Individual Family Services Plans (IFSPs) for children with disabilities.
  • Document children's progress and individualize curriculum using observations and anecdotal notes.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED, Infant/Toddler CDA with at least 120 training hours in Infant/Toddler content plus at least 480 hours of experience working with infant and toddlers.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (desirable).
  • Understanding of infant-toddler development and age-appropriate expectations for pro-social behaviors.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office applications and other basic data systems.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification required.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to cultural differences present among the agency's service population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driver's license required.
