Job Title: Early Head Start Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Head Start Teacher to join our team at Children and Families First Delaware Inc. As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality early childhood education and care to infants and toddlers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth in children.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with children and their families, providing individualized support and guidance as needed.
  • Implement Individual Family Services Plans (IFSPs) for children with disabilities, ensuring that each child receives the support and accommodations they need to thrive.
  • Document children's progress and individualize curriculum based on observations and anecdotal notes.
  • Support the social and emotional development of children, creating a nurturing and responsive environment that promotes positive relationships and behaviors.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED, Infant/Toddler CDA with at least 120 training hours in Infant/Toddler content plus at least 480 hours of experience working with infant and toddlers.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (desirable).
  • Understanding of infant-toddler development and age-appropriate expectations for pro-social behaviors.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office applications and other basic data systems.
  • Must maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to cultural differences present among the agency's service population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license that meets the requirements of the agency's insurance carrier.
