POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Risk Management Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing subcontractor activities, which includes the execution and evaluation of performance against established benchmarks, as well as the collection and assessment of Subcontractor Certificates of Insurance.

COMPENSATION:
$41.95 per hour, $79,256.00 annually (companywide)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Request insurance certificates for BNBuilders' projects.
  • Interpret Owner contracts and subcontracts.
  • Establish subcontractor insurance requirements based on Owner Contract specifications.
  • Input new projects and subcontracts into the subcontractor certificate of insurance system.
  • Gather subcontractor start dates to prioritize and manage the workload of third-party reviewers. Ensure certificates are received before subcontractor work commences and are fully compliant prior to initial payment.
  • Assist subcontractors and their brokers in understanding compliance issues.
  • Clarify any uncertainties with subcontractors or their brokers by obtaining detailed information from third-party reviewers or scheduling meetings for discussion.
  • Provide recommendations for subcontractors unable to meet insurance requirements to effectively mitigate risk and discuss with internal leadership.
  • Monitor expiration dates to ensure timely renewal of insurance.
  • Maintain multiple subcontract risk logs, collaborating with project risk management teams and project teams on financial health and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in construction subcontractor management and Certificate of Insurance review.
  • 2-4 years of experience in contract administration.
  • Understanding of insurance principles along with knowledge of insurance products and terminology.
  • Familiarity with construction trades and associated risks.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • High level of client service ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Sage 300 is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles is a plus.
  • Experience with myCOI is strongly preferred.
