Position Overview

The Campus Security Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the college community. This position is responsible for implementing crime prevention strategies through various patrol methods, including vehicle patrols, foot patrols, and surveillance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

1. Actively monitor campus premises to deter and address potential security threats.

2. Provide traffic education and enforcement to promote safety and reduce congestion.

3. Create a secure environment for all college personnel and property by utilizing industry-standard crime prevention techniques.

4. Investigate and document security-related incidents occurring on campus.

Required Qualifications

1. High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.

2. Possession of a valid Florida driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment, with a satisfactory driving record.

3. Certification in CPR/First Aid; if not currently certified, must obtain certification within six months of employment.

4. Security training certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements under Florida Statute 493 Class D License, which must remain current and active.

Desired Qualifications

1. Previous experience in a security officer or similar role.

Special Requirements

1. The ability to adjust work schedules in response to campus emergencies is essential. This includes:

a. Access to a reliable telephone service or cell phone.

b. Dependable transportation.

Compensation and Benefits

Seminole State College offers a competitive salary ranging from $15.50 to $16.16 per hour, based on education and experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
