Job Overview
As a Clinical Management Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, organization, supervision, implementation, and evaluation of patient services. Your primary objective will be to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and therapeutic care in accordance with hospital policies and national standards.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Assist the manager/director in the daily administration and enforcement of hospital policies affecting department personnel.
  • Participate in the selection, promotion, counseling, and disciplinary actions for staff within your area of responsibility.
  • Assume authority for decision-making and problem-solving in the absence of the manager/director.
  • Maintain 24-hour accountability for designated areas as assigned by the manager/director.
  • Act as a resource for staff in developing and maintaining clinical skills.
  • Oversee and assess the performance of personnel, contributing to performance evaluations as needed.

Patient Care Management
Support the manager/director in managing patient care by:

  • Providing consistent feedback on the quality of nursing care delivered in the unit.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
  • Maintaining effective communication with unit staff, physicians, patients' families, and visitors.
  • Facilitating smooth transitions for patients throughout the healthcare system.

Personnel Development
In your capacity, you will:

  • Verify the competency of clinical skills among unit staff.
  • Collaborate with nursing professionals to coordinate orientation programs for new staff and those with specific needs.
  • Identify educational needs and provide ongoing training, including in-service education on new policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records of in-service education and prepare meeting minutes.

Fiscal Management
Assist the manager/director in managing fiscal resources by:

  • Contributing to payroll functions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Providing input on budgetary needs for departmental supplies and equipment.
  • Educating staff on pay policies and practices.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or an ADN with a commitment to obtain a BSN within one year).
  • Registered Nurse credentials and Basic Life Support certification.

  • Understand and interpret patient needs effectively.
  • Exhibit knowledge of growth and development across various patient age groups.
  • Perform tasks independently as per the competency checklist.
