ROLE SUMMARY:

The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in assisting the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef in managing the savory kitchen operations at our Cambridge location. Responsibilities encompass staff training, maintaining culinary standards, and overseeing daily food production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee kitchen activities and staff, ensuring efficient problem-solving and support.
  • Food Production: Manage savory food production with a focus on quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to create innovative menu specials.
  • Training and Development: Assist in onboarding and training kitchen staff, developing effective training materials.
  • Inventory Management: Help manage inventory and assist in achieving financial goals.
  • Leadership: Foster strong communication within the kitchen and across departments, upholding company policies and standards.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Ensure adherence to safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in special events and cooking classes as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Ability to work full-time, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to long-term employment and professional growth.
