Overview

The Financial Operations Manager role is crucial in ensuring that White Plains Hospital maintains fiscal responsibility while delivering exceptional patient care. This position oversees and manages all elements of the facility's operational and capital budgets, engaging in continuous efforts to identify opportunities for process improvement and the implementation of innovative care models. Acting as an internal advisor, the manager will assist in recognizing and applying new procedures aimed at enhancing efficiency, while also coordinating the assessment and review of relevant statistical and financial variance reports.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Comprehending and adhering to the established Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors of the organization.
  • Supervising and coordinating the preparation of Organizational Management Reports, including monthly updates on Volume Statistics, Operating Revenue, Operating Expenses, and Capital Expenditures. Identifying trends and fluctuations, and presenting findings to Senior Leadership while providing insightful ad hoc analyses as required.
  • Collaborating with department leaders and the finance team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of the Annual Capital and Operating Budgets, as well as Year-End Financial Forecasts.
  • Preparing presentations for Annual Budgets, Year-End Forecasts, and monthly variance analyses.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of the Syntellis Budgeting & Management Reporting system, continually improving reports and systems.
  • Supervising and mentoring Financial Analysts.
  • Leading and participating in various special projects for Finance and Operations as necessary.
  • Performing additional related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Business, or Finance is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in healthcare analysis is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare budgeting, financial forecasting, cost accounting, and industry best practices is required.
  • Familiarity with Kaufman Hall/Axiom/Syntellis Budgeting & Management Reporting is advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is mandatory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to understand key issues and synthesize complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with comfort in managing and summarizing large data sets.

Primary Population Served:

This position primarily serves a non-patient care population.
