Job Summary

The Colville Tribes is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Elder Service Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our community support services, you will play a vital role in providing essential services to our elderly clients, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport clients between locations using an established schedule and on special trips by dispatch or prior arrangement.
  • Provide handyman services to assist elders in maintaining their homes, including minor yard maintenance and chore services.
  • Deliver meals and perform a variety of tasks to support the well-being of our elderly clients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus three to six (3-6) months of experience.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility for Tribe's vehicle insurance.
  • Food Handler's Card, First Aid and CPR card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • TB test with negative result.
  • Healthy lifestyle for the past three years and maintain alcohol and drug abuse free throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and understanding of safe driving practices.
  • Basic knowledge of the operating and mechanical characteristics of a passenger van/vehicle.
  • Knowledge of tribal, state laws, rules and regulations pertaining to passenger van/vehicle operations and transportation of personnel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of verbal and written communication with various types of ages.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to function in a vehicle and outdoors engaged in work of a moderately active nature.
  • Arm-hand and leg-foot dexterity to drive a vehicle and/or van.
  • Visual acuity including depth perception to observe moving objects.
