Job Summary

The Afterschool Lead Teacher will play a pivotal role in the success of the JCC East Bay's Afterschool Program. This individual will be responsible for creating a positive educational climate where students can learn and grow. They will develop and implement weekly classes based on their personal passions and skills, working closely with the Afterschool Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Planning: Develop lesson plans and activities that align with the program's vision and philosophy, extending learning from the students' school days.
  • Student Support: Provide individualized tutoring and support students in their academic endeavors.
  • General: Act as a positive role model, contribute to program development, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of childcare or equivalent experience.
  • BA in Education or a related field.
  • Experience working with children in grades K-5 and ability to plan activities for different age groups.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong classroom management and behavior management skills.
  • Regular and consistent attendance, with availability to work Monday through Friday from 1pm-6pm and Wednesdays 12:30pm-6pm.

The salary range for this position is $23.06 to $24.10/hour. The JCC East Bay offers excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick pay, and holidays. This position is represented by the Union.
