Job Summary

The State of Vermont is seeking a highly skilled Business Application Support Specialist to provide first-level support for systems that support the operations of the department. This position entails evaluating and prioritizing requests, determining appropriate actions, and providing resolutions. The initial focus will be on supporting the department's Risk Intervention Services network infrastructure within correctional facilities.

This role requires excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with the Microsoft 365 Suite, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. This position will require frequent travel to correctional facilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Active Directory, Ivanti ticketing system, writing data queries in SQL, Microsoft Visio, Azure DevOps, and continuous improvement processes/approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage Active Directory (AD) services, including user and group account management, policy enforcement, and directory maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and collaborate with vendors to resolve network-related issues, including connectivity problems, bandwidth utilization, and network hardware failures.
  • Coordinate with the Internet Service Provider (ISP) vendor to ensure stable and reliable internet connectivity.
  • Create reports related to user level access and utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years technical level experience working in a business environment using an enterprise application system.
  • OR
  • Associates degree in business or computer science AND four (4) years experience at a technical level working in a business environment using an enterprise application system.
  • OR
  • Six (6) years experience at a technical level working in a business environment using an enterprise application system.
