Job Title: Product Owner - IT Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Owner - IT Specialist to join our team at the State of Vermont. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects that support public health initiatives and services. As a Product Owner - IT Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining and prioritizing the product backlog
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements
  • Developing and maintaining expert-level knowledge of business processes and IT systems
  • Leading development teams as a Scrum Master and Product Owner
Responsibilities

As a Product Owner - IT Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing the vision for products that support business areas
  • Eliciting and confirming requirements for IT projects
  • Engaging with development teams to assure create and document design strategies
  • Producing and updating deliverables that reflect and communicate the vision
  • Facilitating Release, Sprint, and Daily planning, product reviews, and team retrospectives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in computer or network support, programming, or analysis
  • Experience with Agile Software Development Lifecycle, including roles of Product Owner and Scrum Master/Coach
  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
