Position Overview:


The Materials Logistics Specialist is a vital member of the construction project team, responsible for ensuring that materials are accurately ordered and delivered to the job site in a timely manner. This role involves assisting in the physical reconciliation of materials and their documentation upon project completion, with a primary focus on gas piping and instrumentation materials.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project team and utilize the project bill of materials to procure necessary materials through an established procurement system.

- Ensure that all ordered materials adhere to company specifications.

- Supervise the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.


- Maintain proper documentation upon receipt of materials to confirm that suppliers deliver the correct items and address any discrepancies that may arise.


- Upon receiving requisitions, either retrieve the requested materials for delivery or coordinate the logistics for retrieval and distribution.

- Keep accurate records of material status.

- Work closely with the construction team to schedule deliveries, manage delays, and ensure compliance with all material requests.

- Prepare necessary reports for cost accounts and procurement to meet all accounts payable requirements.

- Collaborate with various departments to facilitate the efficient flow of materials.

- Generate reports related to materials and assist in managing their transportation.

Qualifications:
- Familiarity with piping and instrumentation materials is essential.

- Understanding of project management principles and practices.

- Ability to support multiple project managers and teams effectively.

- Proficient in preparing written communications on both technical and non-technical subjects for various management levels.

- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain open communication across departments.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

- Experience with natural gas pipeline projects is preferred.

- 1-5 years of relevant experience is desirable.

- Proficiency in SAP is highly valued.

- Strong Excel skills are required.

- A valid Driver's License is mandatory.

- Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
