Product Development Manager

As a Product Development Manager at Snap-on, you will be responsible for the overall strategic management and responsibility of product life cycle for designated automotive diagnostics product lines. This includes managing the delivery of new product development projects on time, within budget, and per customer expectations.

Key Accountabilities:
Execute strategic leadership role in product development, launch, and maintenance strategy.
Develop and execute product development plans across business units and departments on a global basis.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and lead the full product life cycle (from concept to end of life) for assigned product lines and projects.
Overall responsibility of product roadmap and achievement of product and project financial goals.
Coordinate engineering and marketing personnel on the project, as well as collaboration with other inter-divisional teams.
Work with Engineering Managers to develop solid project strategies.
Responsible for communicating critical project status to all stakeholders.
Oversight responsibility for end-of-life product strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or equivalent experience in the automotive repair industry.
Minimum 10 years related experience.

Other Requirements:
In-depth understanding of automotive vehicle systems and diagnostic repair strategies.
In-depth understanding of automotive aftermarket diagnostic products, state-of-the-art industry technologies, and market needs.
Excellent product and project management skills and knowledge of Product Management techniques.
This is primarily an in-office based position. It will require periodically visiting repair shops & technicians in their places of work. Additionally, this position requires out-of-town travel averaging 10%.
