Position: Senior Accountant
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our financial operations under the supervision of the Controller. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles to ensure accuracy and compliance. This position requires analytical and evaluative skills, along with a solid understanding of accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely reporting.
- Manage the general ledger, including detailed analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Coordinate weekly accounts payable check runs as directed by senior management.
- Assist the accounts payable team in resolving inquiries from vendors and internal departments.
- Prepare and review state sales tax filings and other required state reports.
- Ensure accuracy in job costing and reconcile all sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
- Provide insights from financial data to mitigate risks and identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor cash flow and forecast future cash needs effectively.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team to align with the company's growth objectives.
- Establish accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as required in the accounting domain.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with expertise in revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial audits.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in financial processes, including budgeting and reporting.
- Familiarity with commercial and tax regulations to ensure compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
